Accountholders
If you have an account with us, notification of our privacy practices was provided at account opening. If you would like an additional notice, it can be found here. You may also request a copy by sending an email to [email protected] (do not include your account number or sensitive information), sending a secure message in online banking, calling us at (800) 347-2228 or mailing a request to AdelFi, Attn: Member Services, PO Box 9001, San Dimas, CA 91773-9001.
Non-Accountholders
If you do not have a personal account with us, we may collect information about you and share the information as necessary for our business purposes to process a financial or other transaction initiated by you or by one of our accountholders. The following are types of information that we may collect:
Name, address, email address, social security number, driver’s license, state ID or passport number or other similar identifier (used to identify you or as required by law); signature (on contracts, forms or deposits), telephone number, employment, sex, age (if needed to process a transaction or as required by law); financial institution name, account number, ATM, debit or credit card number (in conjunction with a transaction with us or our accountholder); visual information from ATM or security cameras (for security purposes); internet or other electronic network activity information (disclosed below).
If you are a party to a business account, this section applies to your personal information.
Website Users
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Credit Union may use cookies and similar technologies to enhance website functionality, improve security, analyze usage trends, and support advertising activities. Consumers may manage cookie preferences through browser settings or available preference tools. Closing or dismissing a consent banner without making a selection does not constitute consent where prohibited by applicable law.
Information Collected Through the Website
If you use our website, we may collect the following types of information from you: IP address, browsing history, search history, products and services considered, products and services obtained, geolocation data, and information about your interaction with our website, application, or advertisement.
How Information Is Used
We collect this information for security purposes, to customize your browsing experience with us, and to display customized advertisements about our products and services that may be of interest to you.
Online Forms and Consumer Rights
If you complete an online form, we may also collect your name, email address, physical address, or phone number that you provide to us for the purposes identified with the form. Consumers may exercise applicable privacy rights through the methods described in this notice or through available website preference tools.
Mobile Banking/Mobile App Users
If you use our mobile banking app, we do not collect information from you that is covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act. A link to the Credit Union’s Privacy Policy is available within the settings menu of the mobile banking application.
All Consumers
Certain information collected by the Credit Union, such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, account credentials, and financial account information, may be considered Sensitive Personal Information under applicable California law and is used only as reasonably necessary to provide products and services, prevent fraud, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
If the Credit Union offers any financial incentive or promotional program involving the collection or use of personal information, participation will always be optional and based on affirmative consumer consent. Consumers may withdraw participation at any time.
In addition to the privacy practices listed above, the Credit Union may collect the following types of information from you: name, address, email address, phone number if you have entered any drawing or raffle or completed any information request form. This information may be used to market our products and services to you.
We may disclose personal information to service providers and contractors for business purposes including transaction processing, fraud prevention, operational support, regulatory compliance, data processing, marketing services, auditing, and account servicing.
Categories of personal information disclosed for these business purposes within the preceding 12 months may include identifiers, financial information, transaction history, internet or electronic activity information, geolocation data, and other information described in this notice.
Service providers and contractors are contractually required to use personal information only for authorized business purposes and to maintain appropriate safeguards to protect the information.
We collect information from third party providers such as consumer reporting agencies, vendors and service providers relating to financial services, state and federal or local agencies, referrals from employees or others, and other financial institutions or transaction processors or parties. The Credit Union does not sell personal information. Personal information may be shared or disclosed only as permitted by law and as described in this notice for operational, servicing, security, fraud prevention, regulatory, marketing, or business purposes.
Consumer Requests
Where required by applicable law, consumers may request access to personal information collected beyond the preceding 12 months, including information maintained by the Credit Union dating back to January 1, 2022.
Identity Verification
Pursuant to CCPA regulations, we may require you to submit a signed declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer to whom the information relates. To request this information, please provide your full name, any name used with us within the last 12 months, your address within the last 12 months, and how you interacted with us within the last 12 months.
Phone Requests
If making a request by phone, we may require you to answer specific questions based on information we have or can obtain about you, or otherwise verify your identity.
GPC and Consumer Choice
Where applicable, the Credit Union will provide confirmation when a consumer’s opt-out request or Global Privacy Control (GPC) preference signal has been received and processed. Privacy choices presented to consumers will be clear, easy to understand, and designed to provide equal and symmetrical choice regarding the use and sharing of personal information.
The Credit Union retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill operational, legal, regulatory, security, and business purposes.
Job Applicants, Employees, Officers, Directors, and Contractors
We may collect the following personal information about job applicants, employees, directors, officers, and contractors of the credit union and references listed on applications, benefits participants and emergency contacts:
Name, signature, alias, social security number, address, phone numbers, e-mail address, driver’s license or state identification numbers, education, employment history, sex, citizenship, immigration status, and professional or employment related information. We may also collect the name, address and telephone number of your listed references or emergency contact information or benefits participant. This personal information is collected and used by the Credit Union within the context of the person’s role or former role as a job applicant to, an employee of, director of, officer of, or a contractor (or related party) of the Credit Union.
Minors
The Credit Union does not knowingly collect or maintain information on children under the age of 16 unless they are a party to an account including an owner or co-owner, a beneficiary, or under a Uniform Transfers to Minor’s Act or Coogan Account.
